The lawyers of Shay, Santee & Kelhart live in the communities they serve. They are active members of their community and spend countless hours in service to others.
Richard Santee has devoted a great deal of his personal time serving the Moravian Church-a small mainline Protestant denomination with church offices in Bethlehem- in a number of capacities. He served for twelve years as a member of the Provincial Elders Conference (the overall governing body of the Moravian Church, Northern Province). At the same time, he served his local parish as President of its Board of Trustees, Vice-chair of its Board of Elders, Chair of its Christian Education Committee and coach of its youth team entry in the Greater Bethlehem Church Basketball League. In 2000-2001, he chaired a denominational Task Force on Human Sexuality and the Church. He continues to serve on the denomination’s Ordination Review Committee, the Interprovincial Board of Communications, and is President of the Moravian Book Shop Board of Directors. He is Chancellor (legal counsel) to the denomination.
Youth activities also take up a great deal of Rick's spare time. He has coached youth sports, at various levels, in soccer, basketball and baseball. He is active in middle and high school band parent organizations in the Bethlehem Area School District, where his children attend public school.
Rick is also a member of the Bethlehem Morning Star Rotary Club, where he is a Board Director, and is a member of the South Mountain District Committee, Minsi Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America.
